Our approach is grounded in clarity and discipline, ensuring each brand is positioned thoughtfully and built to perform as it grows.

We believe the strongest spirits brands are created deliberately. From liquid and packaging to pricing and route-to-market strategy, every element must work together. Pound & Penny brings hands-on experience across brand building, sales, and operations to guide these choices, with a focus on execution that holds up beyond launch.

Rather than adding complexity, we provide focus. By sharing expertise, infrastructure, and relationships, Pound & Penny allows younger brands to move forward with confidence while staying flexible as they grow. We are selective by design, working with a small number of brands we believe have the potential to succeed long term in the premium spirits category.

Pound & Penny was founded by the team behind Virginia Distillery Co., one of the leading producers of American Single Malt whisky in the United States. Built within an operating distillery business, the platform reflects real-world experience navigating production, brand development, and distribution. That foundation ensures Pound & Penny is informed by practice, not theory, and grounded in the realities of building and scaling spirits brands.

P&P Services

Pound & Penny provides a fully integrated commercial platform for premium spirits brands. We combine field sales, distributor management, brand planning, and compliant logistics into a single operating system. The result is disciplined execution, clear accountability, and the ability to scale without building a large internal team.

Field Sales Team

Dedicated market managers deliver consistent on-the-ground execution across priority regions. Our team focuses on distribution gains, menu placements, retail activation, and account-level follow-through, all aligned to agreed annual goals.

Distributor Management

We manage distributor relationships end to end, from goal setting and pricing alignment to scorecards and performance reviews. Clear expectations, regular cadence, and data-backed accountability keep distributors focused on the right priorities.

Sales Reporting

Centralized reporting provides clear visibility into performance by market, distributor, and channel. Using Power BI dashboards fed by Karma/VIP and Park Street data, we track depletions, distribution, and progress versus plan to identify gaps, adjust priorities, and maintain accountability.

Brand Management

Each brand is supported with disciplined annual planning, commercial forecasting, activation calendars, and A&P alignment. We ensure every brand has a defined role, a clear plan, and consistent execution in market.

Tax Paid Warehousing

P&P offers tax paid storage in Virginia for streamlined inventory management and flexibility. This provides brands with a cost-effective option for storage, compliance, and fulfillment, while integrating cleanly with distributor and logistics partners.
